Cleveland Saves offers tips -- and prizes -- to spur savings: Plain Dealing

In her Plain Dealing column, Sheryl Harris highlights Cleveland Saves Week, designed to help Northeast Ohioans get serious about savings.
Add to or open a savings account during Cleveland Saves Week, Feb. 25 to March 2, and you may be eligible for prizes up to $25.
If you're on a limited income, it can seem impossible to find dollars to save.
But more than 20,000 Cleveland Saves members have found creative ways to capture dollars. Their suggestions include:

Cleveland Saves is holding drawings for matching funds up to $25 to enrolled savers or new members. Joining is free.
If you're already enrolled in Cleveland Saves, deposit rolled change in an existing account between Feb. 25 and March 2.
If you're new to saving, enroll in Cleveland Saves and open a new savings account at Fifth Third Bank, Huntington Bank, Key Bank, Ohio Savings Bank or PNC Bank Fairfax Connection
Harris also highlights a program at the Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank, which is "inviting visitors to write on the walls."
The Fed’s Learning Center and Money Museum will give visitors markers they can use to write their best money tips on exhibit walls, and notebooks and pens so they can jot down and take home tips they like. Children will receive copies of Great Minds Think: A Kids Guide to Money workbook. It’s all free.
The Learning Center is at 1455 E. 6th St. and is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
