What Color Is Your Paycheck?

Race and Wages in Ohio

December 10, 2002

What Color Is Your Paycheck? tracks a growing racial wage gap over the last two decades in Ohio. The median black worker in Ohio earns just 83 cents to the median white worker's dollar. In fact, black workers in Ohio are more likely to hold poverty wage jobs, more likely to be unemployed, and less likely to earn wages as high as white workers with similar levels of education. This report points to policy that can help remedy these disturbing trends.

Pink Collar Work:
Gender and Wages in Ohio

October 23, 2002

Pink Collar Work: Gender And Wages In Ohio details ways in which the gender wage gap has narrowed and women workers have made income gains over the last two decades. Despite a 10.3 percent increase in Ohio's median female wage, women still only earn 76 cents to every dollar earned by men and remain more likely to be in poverty-level jobs. The report’s recommendations address policy changes that help bridge the gap between men’s and women’s wages in Ohio.
