There’s no other way to say it: Policy matters, now more than ever.
It matters to the single mother, struggling to afford childcare, food, rent, and all the other things her kids need. To the young adult, squeezing in night classes on top of a minimum-wage job so he can obtain his GED and earn that raise. And to the employer who needs to be able to find well-trained workers when she has an opening.
It matters to the over-worked teacher, who dips into her own wallet to buy school supplies her students need to succeed. To your neighbor, who relies on access to quality healthcare to treat his pre-existing condition. And to your own child, who needs us to reduce carbon emissions, so that the planet will still be habitable when he grows up.
