Whether we trace our Cleveland roots back generations or are new arrivals, many of us came to this city hoping for a piece of the American promise. But today, Cleveland is the nation's poorest big city and many residents have lost faith in their city government to protect their interests. In the 2020 election, Cleveland's voter turnout hit record lows, which led Cleveland Votes and Policy Matters Ohio to conduct research to better understand why.
