Pain deepens – Cuts in state support to Ohio’s communities have deepened. The result has been slashed services, closed facilities and layoffs in counties, cities, villages, townships and special districts across the state. For our new report, Intensifying Impact, our researchers crunched the numbers to look at how state budget cuts have affected lives in all 88 Ohio counties.
But our latest report is more than a presentation of charts and graphs – we called local officials and combed media accounts to produce an oral history that adds clarity and depth to a description of hard times. In addition to a statewide assessment of damage done by the 2012-13 state budget, we’ve produced an easy-to-download fact sheet for each county, based on data and interviews, that shows the impact of cuts.
