Katherine Fallon: Forget the zombies. Go with the governors on health care

COLUMBUS: Frantic efforts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA) captured the nation’s attention all summer. We breathed a sigh of relief when three Republican senators voted no, driving a stake through the heart of the zombie legislation that wouldn’t die.
Now the bill is back and just as dangerous as ever. Our best hope just might be a plan championed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
Kasich is part of a bipartisan group of governors who recently released a proposal intended to stabilize and improve the ACA — without gutting Medicaid and kicking millions off coverage. The governors’ bill is entering the health care debate in opposition to proposals such as the latest from Sens, Bill Cassidy, R-La., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., yet another attempt to bring the repeal-and-replace effort back to life.
