Experts to announce pro-worker policy recommendations
Posted February 12, 2018 in Press Releases
Columbus -- Tomorrow, Tuesday, February 13, Policy Matters Ohio will release their report “A new way forward: 10 ways to support Ohio’s working people,” which calls for state policies that create security, stability and prosperity for workers after years of eroding protections.
The report arrives as workers face the most severe attacks on their rights to organize since Ohio Senate Bill 5 in 2011. Not only will the U.S. Supreme Court soon hear Janus v. AFSCME, which risks the ability of unions to collect fair share fees, Ohio Legislators have also recently unveiled a slate of legislation designed to give more power to corporations at the expense of workers.
Policy Matters Ohio will announce their recommendations at a press conference at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, and will be joined by Cincinnati firefighter Doug Stern, Communications Director for the Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters, and Wright State University Economics Professor Rudy Fichtenbaum.
When: Tuesday, February 13, at 11 a.m.
