A note from our Executive Director
Dear Friends,
This is a difficult time for anyone who believes that government can be a force for good. Many Ohioans — including some of our own family members, neighbors, and friends — used their vote to voice their cynicism about ever reclaiming the institutions at the heart of our democracy. We reject the racism and divisiveness of the Trump campaign, and we know the policy agenda put forward by the Trump administration will exacerbate inequality, weaken the working class, and harm many of us.
So much about our future as a state and as a nation is uncertain. But one thing I know for sure: Our work together matters. Our families, friends, and communities matter. You matter.
Policy Matters Ohio’s values and mission are the same today as they’ve always been: to make Ohio a place of equity, inclusion, sustainability, and real vibrancy for all. We will counter falsehoods with facts, amplify the voices of those affected by policies of exclusion, and find our way forward, together.
Thank you for being part of the Policy Matters community.
In solidarity,
Hannah Halbert
P.S. — If you’re in or can make it to Cleveland later this month, please consider attending the City Club forum, “The Legacy of Tamir Rice.” Use the code POLICY for discounted tickets. The event will also be livestreamed, starting at noon on Friday, November 22.
