Economic Development

Investing in our greatest resource – people –  builds a prosperous economy. Instead of big tax giveaways to corporations, we document how good schools, roads, and communities lead to a better Ohio.  

Our work shows how Ohio can create an economy that works through all by investing in infrastructure, passing smart clean energy policies and supporting workers. 

Work and Wages

No one working full time should struggle to get by. Workers who get laid off should know their families won't go hungry. We promote good policies so Ohioans have access to good work that pays them fairly.  

We know how to create good quality, well-paying jobs in Ohio. Put our state's resources into infrastructure and people through education and training. Encourage unions and fair labor standards to level the playing field for workers. Raise the minimum wage and reform the tax code so all workers can live comfortably.

Democracy and Government  

Ohio deserves a government that represents everyone – not just big moneyed special interests. We're working to ensure our state government is transparent and accessible. 

We can’t have an economy that works for everyone if some people are excluded from the decisions our government officials make. Policy Matters stood up to discriminatory voter ID laws. We helped beat back a dangerous sunset law that could have eliminated state agencies without any input from the public.
