The Ohio General Assembly is considering House Bill 554, part of a $1.57 billion economic stimulus package. We thought the legislation needed better safeguards to ensure that economic development assistance comes with reporting requirements and performance standards. On May 19, 2008, our Columbus researcher, Jon Honeck, outlined how to improve the bill in testimony to the House Finance and Appropriations Committee.
