The GOP tax plan and you

Policy Matters has chronicled the many ways the federal GOP tax and budget plans would harm Ohio. Huge windfalls for the wealthiest will be paid for by cuts to programs like food aid, Medicaid, and more. Most Ohioans come out behind. You can find all our GOP tax plan research, analysis, press statements and op-eds here.

The map and accompanying two-page fact sheets highlights the number of people in each Ohio congressional district that are currently receiving federal food aid, subsidized student aid, and who claim state and local tax deductions. Because the Senate bill plans to eliminate the individual mandate to buy health insurance under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), these fact sheets also include data on enrollment in the ACA insurance.
