Who we are
Policy Matters is a nonprofit policy research institute creating a more vibrant, equitable, sustainable, and inclusive Ohio through research, strategic communications, coalition building, and policy advocacy. Our analysis is evidence-based. We produce unassailable research that is driven by both data and values. Our work is focused on improving the lives of all Ohioans.
Policy Matters Ohio is seeking a research fellow to join our fines and fees policy team. This team focuses on criminal justice fees and fines that states and localities impose to raise revenue for court operations, police departments, and other public services. The team will conduct research into the effects of these fees on families and communities and identify policy solutions to eliminate revenue-generating policies that criminalize poverty and create barriers to opportunity.
We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building an inclusive and equitable workplace. Women and people of color are encouraged to apply. All qualified candidates will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, veteran status, or any other class status.
