Cuts hurt Ohio: It was bad, now it’s worse

July 25, 2012, an interactive website created by One Ohio Now in collaboration with Innovation Ohio and Policy Matters, allows users to see the real impact of state funding cuts on schools and local government, by county. Cuts to schools statewide, including the loss of federal stimulus dollars, total $1.8 billion, while local governments lost just over $1 billion. The site provides a state map linked to county-level data, and compares appropriations in the prior budget (fiscal years 2010-11) with the current budget (fiscal years 2012-13).
